How to Get a Green Dragon in Dragonkind

Last updated: October 13, 2026

The two-greens clearing is the deadliest scene in the game — hesitation and split attention are punished harder here than anywhere else. We bonded Ainluach, a male green morningstartail, 37, of the Uaineloidsig lineage. Here is exactly how.

Getting to the clearing

1. Enter the valley and survive the first encounter

Lower your eyes and stay still, whatever shows up. Entering alone and heading west has drawn a green first encounter in our runs — but any route can reach the tree.

2. Take the mercy path at the screams

Community route maps link mercy to green bonds: make the tourniquet for the wounded cadet, or leave the bully to the dragons. Our green bond run made the tourniquet.

3. At the fork, climb the tallest tree

Choose "find the tallest tree and climb for a better view." (If a rare third option — follow the shadow — appears, that is the black/blue door, not the green one.)

4. Climb down slowly

"Climb down slowly to pursue the green" leads to the two-greens clearing. Descending fast drops you at a trap red's feet instead.

The bond chain, step by step

1. Turn to one dragon — and only one

Two greens watch you. Staying neutral is fatal (weakness), and so is picking one then glancing at the other. Choose and commit.

2. Hold still — under its jaws, under the knife

The green tests your nerve at point-blank range. Don't move. Don't move again. Every verified survival kept perfectly still.

3. Answer its question honestly

The right dragon asks why you chose it — "you respect greens' reasonable nature" bonded for us. The left asks your greatest weakness — honest answers like "my temper" bond; "I have no weaknesses" usually burns.

How players die here

  • Staying neutral and \"letting the dragons decide\" — burned. Neutrality reads as weakness.
  • Picking one dragon, then glancing at the other — burned. Commit fully.
  • Claiming \"I have no weaknesses\" — usually burned. (Rare exceptions report a brown dragon rescuing them and calling them an idiot.)
  • Randomness is real: the same route has advanced one run and burned the next. Neither green is a safe side.

Burned? The wait is exactly 4 hours

Every death locks you out for exactly 4 hours — it does not increase. Track the countdown and come back the moment it clears.
